Who would burn $10,000 handbags (and reportedly hit his wife?)

A Ford Motor Company executive, the CEO of Ford Next LLC Franck Dominique Louis-Victor, reportedly was accused in early July 2023 of attacking his wife and threatening to burn her two Hermes handbags with a lit butane torch. He was charged with arson preparation and reportedly hitting his wife in the face with a Google Nest device in Oakland County, Michigan. By the end of the month, however, officials announced that all charges against Louis-Victor had been dropped.

The Hermes bags are available via a waiting list and are apparently worth an estimated $10,000 each.
